VOX Cinemas has announced the launch of a new advanced IMAX Auditorium at Yas Mall to coincide with the regional release of “Avatar: Fire and Ash.”
The “next-generation” cinema experience brings world-class entertainment technology to Abu Dhabi, giving film fans the perfect reason to get off the couch and back into the movie theatre.
The launch adds another high-end cinema event to the portfolio of VOX Cinemas, the Middle East’s largest exhibitor, owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment.
The newly upgraded IMAX auditorium boasts a screen 23.2 metres wide and a floor-to-ceiling viewing experience.

The theatre is powered by IMAX with Laser projection, delivering ultra-bright and ultra-sharp images with lifelike colour and contrast.
The 12-channel immersive sound system includes ceiling, rear, and surround speakers that place viewers at the centre of the action with glider and recliner seating.

The screening of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” gives audiences the opportunity to experience one of the most anticipated films of the year with stunning visuals, powerful sound, and a scale that makes every story feel bigger.

The IMAX upgrade forms part of a cinema-wide refurbishment at VOX Cinemas Yas Mall. Eleven standard screens have been converted to Premier. The experience includes gourmet dining, personalised service and reclining leather seating.
