The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) highlighted the Emirate's growing global influence as a cultural and creative hub at the BRIDGE Summit, currently underway at ADNEC Abu Dhabi, presenting a vision that blends heritage preservation with contemporary innovation.
The department's participation focused on showcasing Abu Dhabi's dynamic cultural ecosystem, from major museum developments to initiatives that empower local talent and revive traditional industries. The pavilion drew strong interest from industry leaders, creatives and international visitors, reflecting the Emirate's rising profile on the global cultural stage.
Huthaifa Al Zadjali, Senior Specialist at DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasised the strategic importance of the department's presence at the summit.
"Our participation in BRIDGE serves as a strategic platform that highlights Abu Dhabi's pioneering role in building an innovative and integrated cultural ecosystem, while promoting heritage, supporting creative industries and empowering national talents."
He added that the summit provided a key opportunity to position Abu Dhabi as a destination that offers more than tourism, but meaningful cultural experiences.
"We are showcasing Abu Dhabi's unique cultural and tourism experiences, from world-class museums to heritage events and community programmes, supported by global partnerships that strengthen confidence in the Emirate as a leading destination," Al Zadjali said.
Among the initiatives presented were projects aimed at reviving traditional crafts, safeguarding intangible cultural heritage, and expanding cultural infrastructure through new museums and creative centres
"These initiatives reflect the authenticity and evolution of Emirati identity, presenting a blend of tradition and modernity that defines Abu Dhabi today," he noted.
Collaboration featured strongly in DCT Abu Dhabi's message, with Al Zadjali stressing the importance of partnerships in achieving sustainable cultural development
"Working with local and international partners allows us to exchange expertise, develop joint programmes, and promote our heritage and tourism destinations to a global audience," he said.
Highlighting the department's message to global audiences, he said: "Abu Dhabi is a global destination that embraces cultural diversity, invests in its heritage and presents it to the world in a modern and engaging way. Through BRIDGE, we are reaffirming our readiness to welcome the world with a model that balances authenticity, innovation and identity."
