As the UAE drives digital transformation in the agriculture sector, farmers and livestock breeders are gaining access to smarter and more efficient services.

In Sharjah, the Department of Agriculture and Livestock has established the Mazraati (my farm) platform, empowering farmers with smart tools, data-driven insights, and real-time monitoring to enhance productivity and promote food security across the emirate.

The platform was showcased during GITEX 2025, where Abdalla Alhashmi, an application developer at the department, explained how it supports farmers with smart tools, data-driven insights, and real-time monitoring to enhance productivity and promote food security across the emirate.

“The core idea of the platform focuses on people as the central element, providing technical and logistical support to farmers and breeders to enhance productivity, achieve food security, and promote sustainability,” Abdalla Alhashmi, an application developer at the department, told Aletihad.

Mazraati, which was showcased during GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, offers detailed data about farmers and livestock owners, helping integrate them into a unified support system.

Through the platform, farmers and breeders can apply for technical consultations and receive smart reports that help improve productivity and operational efficiency, Alhashmi added.

Among its key features, Mazraati provides a wide range of smart solutions, including intelligent farming tools, smart irrigation systems, plant monitoring technology, and predictive crop analysis.

“These features enable better decision-making and more efficient use of resources. The platform also allows data exchange between various entities involved in agriculture,” he said.

According to Alhashmi, farmers can also request technical consultations directly through the platform, supported by analytical tools that provide accurate insights based on agricultural data.

Mazraati is a prime example of how digital transformation is reshaping the UAE’s agricultural and livestock sectors, he said.

“The shift toward digitalisation has created a qualitative leap in how the agricultural sector is managed. It improves efficiency, simplifies procedures, and accelerates service delivery. It also enhances sustainability by optimising resource use, reducing waste, and increasing productivity,” Alhashmi explained.

“We are working on developing more analytical tools, integrating with additional government systems, and adopting broader AI applications to make the platform more comprehensive and capable of effectively serving the agricultural community and related sectors.”
