MUDHI ALOBTHANI (ABU DHABI)
Reaffirming its mission to support the UAE’s knowledge-based economy and drive innovation and sustainability, the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is actively participating in the 2025 Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX).
Through its College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, the UAEU is showcasing cutting-edge research and practical solutions aligned with national priorities in food and biosecurity, sustainable agriculture, and cultural heritage preservation.
Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, visited the exhibition on Thursday and explored the university’s showcase of research projects and innovative initiatives.
Speaking to Aletihad, Dr. Ihab Habib, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the UAEU’s College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, said, “The university is keen to participate in the exhibition annually, reflecting its leading role in supporting the nation’s efforts in food and biosecurity, raising awareness about sustainable agriculture, and preserving cultural heritage.”
The college’s participation aims to foster stronger engagement with the community while showcasing the university’s achievements in innovation and scientific research, particularly in the application of AI in agriculture and veterinary medicine, Dr. Habib added.
This year, the pavilion presents an extensive range of research models and success stories in veterinary medicine, animal production, agricultural production, and aquaculture.
The college also highlighted innovative solutions in water management and animal feed, as well as AI-driven projects that analyse agricultural data, predict plant and animal diseases, improve production quality, and optimise resource management.
The pavilion brings together three academic departments: the Department of Integrated Agriculture, the Department of Food Sciences, and the Department of Veterinary Medicine.
Each department introduced its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, offering a multidisciplinary perspective that emphasises integrated agricultural systems.
These programmes combine food production, food processing, agribusiness, natural resource management, and environmental protection, preparing students to tackle complex challenges in the agriculture and veterinary fields.
The pavilion drew interest from students, livestock breeders, environmental enthusiasts, and professionals engaged in modern technologies and sustainable practices.
It also provided a platform to encourage young people to explore academic and career opportunities in agriculture and veterinary sciences, while highlighting the importance of scientific research and innovation.
Through this participation, the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the UAE’s knowledge-based economy. By connecting academic expertise with practical solutions and community engagement, the college continues to strengthen its role as a leading contributor to the UAE’s agricultural and veterinary sectors and to the country’s broader goals of innovation, sustainability, and economic growth.
