AMEINAH ALZEYOUDI (ABU DHABI)

Abu Dhabi is rolling out the red carpet for some of the world's biggest names in stand-up this spring, with a packed comedy calendar set to bring sharp wit, personal tales and plenty of punchlines to Etihad Arena. With six heavyweight comedians lined up across April and May, the Abu Dhabi Comedy Season is stacking the deck in favour of laughter.

The fun starts early with Trevor Noah returning on 26 April. After his "Off the Record" show had the Abu Dhabi crowd in stitches in February 2024, the former "Daily Show" host is now returning with fresh material. Known for his clever mix of political insight and global perspective, Noah's storytelling hits the sweet spot between thought-provoking and hilarious.

Just a few days later, Kevin Hart is set to bring his energetic brand of comedy back to Etihad Arena on May 2. No stranger to UAE crowds, Hart's latest tour, "Acting My Age", plays on the highs and lows of growing older, with the usual dose of exaggerated storytelling and rapid-fire jokes that have made him a global headliner.

Gabriel Iglesias, or "Fluffy" as his fans know him, follows on May 3 with his "Don't Worry Be Fluffy" tour. Iglesias has built a loyal fan base with his animated delivery, sound effects, and a warm, goofy charm that cuts across generations. He's a natural performer, and his ability to turn everyday moments into absurd, laugh-out-loud stories is why audiences keep coming back.

British comedy fans are in for a treat on May 10, as Michael McIntyre returns to the stage alongside Seann Walsh. McIntyre's ability to turn mundane moments, such as family life, travel woes, and awkward small talk, into crowd-pleasing gold has made him one of the most successful comics to come out of the UK. His return promises a night of classic observational humour that feels both personal and wildly relatable.

Jo Koy is also heading back to Yas Island with his "Just Being Koy" tour on May 29. His shows often focus on his Filipino-American upbringing, parenting mishaps and cultural quirks. Koy's delivery is fast and physical, with impersonations and characters that make every story bigger and funnier than real life.

Closing out the month is Gad Elmaleh on May 30. Often referred to as the Jerry Seinfeld of France, Elmaleh will perform the show in French, which is not surprising, as his signature blend of satire and physical comedy always scores major points with francophone audiences across the globe. It's his first time at Etihad Arena, and his mix of international experience and sharp humour is likely to win over new fans.
