TAARIQ HALIM (ABU DHABI)
Not many events can successfully bring together fans of both Taylor Swift and classical music. But this one might.
Experience the mega-star's hits including Shake it off, Blank Page and Cruel Summer, performed by trained musicians in Candlelight: Tribute to Taylor Swift this Saturday, March 22, at the NYU Blue Hall in Abu Dhabi at 10pm.
Also on Saturday at the same venue, enjoy a Candlelight take on Coldplay and their most popular hits like Sky full of stars and Paradise, in the 5pm and 8pm time slots.
These are the first of a host of Candlelight productions lined up over the next two months in Abu Dhabi.
The popular international concert series boasts a diverse range of tribute shows offered each season in the UAE capital.
The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi will play host to Candlelight: Best of Bridgerton on Strings on April 18.
SeaWorld Yas Island will be staging Candlelight: Queen vs ABBA and Candlelight: Vivaldi's Four Seasons on April 26.
And the Ritz-Carlton hosts an Imagine Dragons & Coldplay tribute, as well as Vivaldo's Four Seasons on May 30.
What makes a Candlelight concert special is the trained musicians who effortlessly perform popular compositions - whether it's a string quartet, a talented oud player, a virtuoso pianist or a dynamic jazz band.
Then there's the enchanting atmosphere - the warm, soft glow of thousands of candles flickering against the backdrop of the stunning architecture of Abu Dhabi's luxury hotels and concert halls and theatres.
The concert series extends to Dubai, where you can catch most of the same show.
Additionally, Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer will be performed at the Alliance Française Dubai this Saturday.
Other highlights include A Tribute to Adele and From Mozart to Chopin at Celeste, Jumeirah Al Qasr on April 19.
