Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, home of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, beaches, resorts and cultural experiences, is hosting diverse activities that cater to all tastes during Ramadan.
Layali Ramadan at Saadiyat Nights is among the Ramadan highlights, which attracts visitors daily from 9pm to 3am throughout the month, offering an exceptional experience that combines traditional heritage with festive celebrations.
The open-air venue features restaurants offering popular Emirati food, cultural shows, local retailers, handicraft workshops and henna sessions, among others.
Umm Abdullah, one of the local craftspersons participating in the event, said: "I am happy to share my traditional skills with visitors, especially during this holy month, where visitors can enjoy my handicrafts that reflect the Emirati heritage. We have witnessed a great turnout for the handicrafts this year, which reflects the importance of this event in preserving cultural heritage and spreading it to others."
Lena, a reception staff member at Saadiyat Nights, said: "During Layali Ramadan, we offer a variety of authentic Emirati dishes alongside the finest international cuisines. We have noticed a growing number of visitors, and our guests enjoy a diverse experience that combines food and cultural activities."
Lena added that the event includes cultural and artistic activities, as well as live musical performances. Visitors also have the opportunity to spend quality time with friends playing board games like Carrom, Backgammon and Jackaroo.
The venue also offers a special market, presenting traditional products in collaboration with MIRBAD, Abu Dhabi's favourite pop-up market.
The market features a variety of Ramadan products from local brands, ranging from traditional jewellery to luxurious Ramadan gifts.
Sarah Ali, sales manager at one of the participating stores, stated: "We have witnessed a great demand for Ramadan products, especially gifts that carry the authentic Emirati touch. This month provides a perfect opportunity for visitors to discover and buy special products that add to their Ramadan traditions."
Jessie, a waitress at Saadiyat Nights, said: "It's lovely to see guests enjoying the food we offer in beautiful Ramadan surroundings. Many of our visitors prefer traditional Emirati dishes like Luqaimat and Mahalla Zayed."
