The Etihad Modern Art Gallery hosted the grand opening of acclaimed abstract artist Sarah Sky’s Art Exhibition, in the presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, gallery owner Khalid Seddiq Al Muttuwa, and government officials, marking a momentous occasion for the arts and cultural scene in Abu Dhabi.
The opening ceremony highlighted the unifying power of art as it brought together dignitaries, art enthusiasts, and collectors from around the world.
This exhibition offers a profound artistic experience, celebrating the UAE’s legacy and showcasing Sarah Sky’s captivating interpretations of movement, emotion, and form.
As part of the opening ceremony, Sarah Sky personally guided guests through the exhibition, offering exclusive insights into her creative process and the inspirations behind her work.
53 artworks
This special collection features 53 artworks, symbolising the 53 years since the UAE’s formation.
Each piece resonates with themes of unity, movement, and vibrancy, reflecting the artist’s multicultural background and her journey as a French-American creative raised in Morocco and based in Guatemala.
The exhibition, titled “Formula Exhibition”, will run from December 8-20, 2024, coinciding with Abu Dhabi's dynamic cultural season during the Formula 1 finale.
Showcasing Sarah Sky’s mastery of abstract expression, the collection spans intricate miniatures and bold largescale canvases. Her innovative use of color, texture, and form invites audiences into a deeply introspective experience, making her art universally engaging.
