The winners of the Sharjah Media City's (Shams) media and creative competition were announced.
The contest drew considerable and diverse community involvement, as part of the recently concluded 8th International Photography Festival Xposure 2024.
Mona Al Zahiri was named the Best Idea Award winner, Rashid Abdoun was named the Best Story Award winner, and Sultan bin Dafon was named the Best Screenplay Award winner in its primary competition, the Short Film Writing Challenge.
Notably, the competition was based on an emotive image from the festival's events, and 25 people competed for it. Additionally, five contestants were chosen to write the screenplay for a short series.
Chairman of Shams, Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa, presented the prizes to the winners at the festival's conclusion.
He thanked them for their success in the awards and emphasised the significance of the honour in recognising, promoting, and refining unique talent.
It is worthy to note that more than 100 individuals benefited from eight training seminars organised by Shams as part of the festival's activities.
