Al Sinniyah Island
Just one kilometre away from the city of Umm Al Quwain is Al Sinniyah Island, a charming destination eight kilometres long and four kilometres wide, that has bagged the award for “Early Emirates” for its natural attractions bridging the present and the past. Al Sinniyah is also home to a host of historical sites that represent a record of religious and multicultural communities that have inhabited the island over centuries.
Another major highlight is the historical Sinniyah monastery, which studies show has been a flourishing site between the late 6th and mid-8th centuries.
Dreamland Aqua Park
Dreamland Aqua Park is the UAE’s largest waterpark, sprawling over a quarter million square metres, only 40 minutes away from Dubai. With a 10,000-visitor capacity and a parking that could accommodate over 2,002 cars at any moment, Dreamland is Umm Al Quwain’s largest and most beautiful tourist attraction with rides and slides for all age groups.
In addition to the open and covered slides, twisting tunnels, a wave pool and swimming pools, Dreamland Aqua Park has dedicated camping spots, a small zoo and playgrounds and courts for sport lovers.
Happy Land
Happy Land in Umm Al Quwain is one of the key attractions, combining games, scientific discoveries and entertainment for children.
Happy Land hosts an art corner allowing kids to develop their creativity in dealing with colours. There is also the theatre, a party hall and a dedicated room with the latest computer devices.
Sheikh Zayed Park
Sheikh Zayed Park occupies an area of 54000 m2, 42000 m2 of which is planted with palm, decorative plants and seasonal flowers that gives the park its stunning views. The park contains playgrounds for different ages, football, basketball, volleyball and handball courts, in addition to areas for barbeque and recreation.
Umm Al Quwain National Fort
Extending over an area of 8,000 square metres, Umm Al Quwain National Fort is a major centre for knowledge and human culture, housing archaeological finds from thousands of years ago.
Umm Al Quwain Wall
Dating back to 1820 during the rule of Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid the First, the Umm Al Quwain Wall is a historical structure located from the Arabian Gulf in the north to Umm Al Quwain Creek in the south, thus closing the only land gateway to the emirate. The Wall, 288.5 metres long and 2.95 metres high, includes three towers named Al Lazima Towers, and has a wooden gate that opens in the morning and closes at sunset.
A Historical Fort
Umm Al Quwain’s Falaj Al Mualla is famous for its historical fort and watchtowers. The fort, built in 1800 and renovated in 2007, comprises a defensive wall, two towers and 10 rooms. It is built from Wadi Al Falaj’s stones, mixed with mud and plaster, while its roof is made of various types of wood.
