Magnificent seven storeys of well-being for women coming up in Abu Dhabi

The inaugural Kintsugi Space will consist of a seven-storey building with each floor serving a different wellness element

If women have a strong sixth sense, a new outlet in Abu Dhabi have decided to take their well-being a notch higher with seven stories of pampering dedicated for them when an exclusive wellness spa opens next month. Kintsugi Space, a new private wellness club concept, will launch its flagship destination on Reem Island with exclusive entry only for women.

Unveiled in 2022, Kintsugi is a self-care-inspired concept designed to help its members heal, grow and embrace who they are. Its approach will draw on Western and ancient Eastern healing rituals. The brand’s name refers to the Japanese method of repairing broken pottery with paint mixed with gold powder – a practice designed to showcase the beauty in imperfection.

The inaugural Kintsugi Space will consist of a seven-storey building with each floor serving a different wellness element as healing is promised to reach another level of holistic health. After being greeted by an outdoor zen garden, you can head to the Lay Down and Heal floor for treatments including a sound bath on a quartz bed, or an oxygen bar session.

Then there is a Wisdom Room where you can take part in sound healing sessions, while one can relax in the Activation area with a selection of books or on the balcony which features DIY Kintsugi art.

There are wet and dry facilities on the leisure concept floor, including an infrared sauna, an obsidian crystal sauna and a hamman room. There’s an indoor-outdoor pool, and you can take a dip in the Onsen bath (everything here is Japanese inspired, after all), or relax on one of the swings above the pool. Another outdoor area is the Gazebo Garden, which is perfect for those looking to meditate.

There’s a fitness studio inside, too, and towards the end is the vanity area, named Love. There will also be an Italian restaurant inside, with complimentary vegan food for members. The dishes have been paired with the treatments in the rest of the space, according to the owners.

The brand says the opening is the first step of its global rollout strategy, with more to come in 2024. Next year, Kintsugi will expand its reach with an online membership option to connect a global audience with its workshops, classes and retreats.

Also launching next year is the official Kintsugi product line; the collection of hand-crafted products will include clothing and beauty and healing solutions. Staffed by therapists and wellness specialists, Kintsugi Space will blend modern wellness technology and natural therapies to offer a programming menu that promotes both movement and stillness.

Educational talks will also take place to equip members with new tools to progress on their individual well-being journey. Technology on offer will include an oxygen bar, a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, an LED light bed and more. Members will be able to opt for three-, six- and 11-month membership options, as well as a six-day retreat offering.
