With more than 110 schools and over 12 universities in the UAE now using Google for Education, the country is emerging as one of the region’s fastest adopters of AI-powered learning.
At BRIDGE Summit, Murtaza Sinnar, Google Education Solutions Manager, offered an inside look at how Google is helping transform UAE classrooms into personalised, interactive, and future-ready learning environments.
In an interview with Aletihad at the summit, Sinnar highlighted the EdTech platform’s mission: “We look at how Google tools can integrate with pedagogy in schools.”
The tech giant holds more than 70% of the education technology market globally, with adoption exceeding 85% in the US, Japan, and Singapore, he said. Google provides a full ecosystem combining hardware, tools, and integration features that keep students and teachers on the same page.
Sinnar pointed out that the future of education lies in personalised learning made possible by AI.
For the UAE, Google has localised its tools to effectively meet the needs of the country’s students and teachers. In Abu Dhabi, schools administer standardised progress tests in English, math and science – areas where Google provides targeted digital support, Sinnar said.
“Google also developed material for Arabic, Islamic education, and UAE social studies, helping teachers offer culturally relevant instruction while enabling students to self-pace their learning,” he added.
At the university level, adoption continues to grow. Alongside UAE universities that have independently chosen Google tools, branch campuses such as NYU Abu Dhabi and University of Wollongong are able to make full use of them through their global headquarters.
Through the BRIDGE Summit, Google is able to showcase what “it’s actually doing for education”, Sinnar said.
