Lebanon's Prime Minister receives UAE FNC Speaker in Beirut

BEIRUT (WAM)

Dr Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lebanon, today received Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC), who is on an official visit to Lebanon.

During the meeting, Ghobash conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Chairman of the Presidential Court, to Dr. Nawaf Salam. Their Highnesses extended their best wishes to Lebanon and its people for continued progress, prosperity, and development across all sectors.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and Lebanon, and discussed ways to strengthen and expand cooperation across various fields. They also exchanged views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest, and reiterated the depth of the historic, fraternal, and strategic ties that have long united the two countries. These relations encompass a wide range of sectors, including cultural, economic, and humanitarian spheres.

Ghobash congratulated Dr. Salam on assuming the role of Prime Minister of Lebanon, and commended the Lebanese parliament’s vote of confidence in his government and the successful formation of the new cabinet.

He also reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast support for the sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity of Lebanon, as well as its ongoing commitment to supporting Lebanon’s development and prosperity.

Ghobash emphasised that the UAE remains unwavering in its efforts to assist the Lebanese people.

The Prime Minister of Lebanon emphasised the long-standing fraternal ties between the two fraternal nations. He lauded the UAE’s key role in promoting stability and development across the region.

The Lebanese Prime Minister also extended thanks and appreciation to the UAE for its continuous support for Lebanon during recent challenging times, noting the positive impact this assistance has had on the Lebanese people.
