Hala Al-Khayyat (Abu Dhabi)

Abattoirs in Abu Dhabi continued to receive the public on Monday, the second day of Eid Al Adha, as many preferred to avoid the potential crowding of the first day.

The slaughterhouses in Abu Dhabi will remain open to the public throughout the Eid Al Adha from 6am to 5:30pm.

The Abu Dhabi Automated Slaughterhouse in Mina Zayed handles sacrifices for the Emirates Red Crescent and smart application orders.

The Bani Yas Slaughterhouse and Al Wathba Automated Slaughterhouse are allocated for the public, while Al Shahama Automated Slaughterhouse serves both the public and orders received via smart applications.

The municipality has provided the public with two options for ordering sacrificial meat: smart application orders or visits to the designated slaughterhouses. The smart applications include: Zabehaty, Zabayeh Al Jazeera, Dhabayeh UAE, and Halal Mazarana.

The Abu Dhabi Municipality has urged the public to avoid slaughtering animals outside of approved slaughterhouses, as it is a violation punishable under Law No. (2) of 2012 regarding public appearance, health, and general tranquility in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Inspection teams from the municipality are on the lookout for violators.

The municipality has also introduced the “Eid Market” initiative in Al Wathba to ensure a regulated and hygienic environment for buying and selling sacrificial animals. Each slaughterhouse has dedicated veterinary staff to inspect pre-slaughter animals and post-slaughter meat, ensuring public health safety by providing disease-free meat.

To enhance visitor comfort, the municipality equipped facilities with air-conditioned tents and shaded walkways, complete with chilled water stations. Special provisions are in place for people of determination and senior citizens.
