ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
Abu Dhabi Police have announced full security and traffic readiness for Eid Al Adha, with a comprehensive plan to increase patrols, improve emergency response and manage traffic around busy areas during the holiday.
According to a statement on X, the plan includes intensifying security and traffic patrols on main roads, in busy public areas, commercial centres, parks and prayer halls, as part of efforts to maintain safety and reassure the community during Eid.
Police presence will also be increased at sites expected to attract large numbers of residents and visitors throughout the holiday.
Abu Dhabi Police said that its Central Operations Room will operate around the clock to receive and respond to reports, with police sectors and strategic partners working together to speed up responses to emergencies and other incidents.
The Capital, Al Ain and Al Dhafra police directorates, along with the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, affirmed their readiness to maintain smooth traffic flow and reduce congestion during Eid events.
According to the statement, field teams will remain present across key locations, supported by traffic scenarios and plans designed to prevent bottlenecks and improve road safety during the holiday period.
Abu Dhabi Police urged residents to cooperate with officers, adhere to traffic laws and drive safely. The force also warned motorists against "incorrect and dangerous behaviour" on the roads, stressing that public safety remains a top priority.
It also called on community members not to use, trade or handle fireworks during Eid celebrations, warning that they pose a risk to public safety. Families and guardians were urged not to leave children unattended while playing outdoors or crossing roads.
Abu Dhabi Police warned young drivers against using the Eid holidays as an excuse for reckless behaviour - including stunt driving, dangerous displays, speeding or organising races near residential areas - as such irresponsible actions endanger drivers, passengers and other road users.
The force said that awareness and field efforts will continue throughout the Eid Al Adha holidays to protect the community.
