With its global talent pool, progressive partnerships, and forward-thinking regulations, the UAE is rapidly emerging as a global deep tech hub, VentureOne CEO Reda Nidhakou told Aletihad on Tuesday.

The UAE possesses every essential element to excel in technology development, particularly in cutting-edge and emerging fields, Nidhakou said.

At the Dubai Airshow, the Abu Dhabi -based technology solutions company is presenting a broad showcase of advanced technologies spanning quantum computing, electromagnetic systems, crypto and artificial intelligence (AI).

These technologies include tactical AI systems that enhance situational awareness and decision-making.

Among VentureOne's notable exhibits is synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology, which is integrated into drone platforms for advanced mapping and subsurface architecture analysis.

The company is also playing a pivotal role in fostering startup innovation at the Dubai Airshow through its partnership in the Vista Startup Challenge, a series of themed competitions under the larger Vista platform, where startups compete to solve real-world aerospace and defence problems.

On Tuesday, VentureOne, in partnership with Steer AI, co-led the challenge themed "Accelerating the Autonomous Robotics Revolution".

The competition sought innovative, scalable autonomous robotics solutions capable of operating in demanding environments, where infrastructure is limited, workforce availability is scarce, and terrain is challenging.

Startups competed to demonstrate modular systems with strong commercial potential across logistics, defence, and transport sectors.

"We selected 5 startups to pitch their innovations today. Three were awarded monetary prizes and we plan to pursue collaborations with them."

A key takeaway from the challenge, according to Nidhakou, was the central role AI now plays in autonomous systems.

AI was evident across robotics, drones and other offerings, indicating a trend that is currently transforming the industry, he noted.

AI holds great potential to transform multiple areas of air operations, especially safety by enabling more accurate monitoring, predictive insights, and faster, more informed decision-making, Nidhakou explained.
