The Ministry of Education (MoE) on Monday will launch its Specialised Training Week, engaging 23,000 educational staff members, including teachers, school leaders, and specialists from across the UAE.

The event, running from August 19 to 23, 2024, is part of the MoE’s preparations for the new academic year 2024-2025.

The week includes 64 specialised training workshops, totalling 189 training hours, aimed at ensuring the readiness of educational staff and equipping them with the latest innovative educational tools.

Minister of Education, Her Excellency Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, highlighted the importance of the Specialised Training Week in enhancing teachers’ skills.

She emphasised that the event fosters the exchange of educational experiences within an innovative and leadership-driven learning environment, positively impacting the quality and development of the educational system, enhancing its excellence and competitiveness.

Her Excellency noted that this training is a key component of the ministry’s strategy to advance the capabilities of educational staff, aiming for leadership in the education sector.

Participants will acquire advanced skills in various priority areas for the state, she said.

Director General of Emirates Schools Establishment, Engineer Mohammed Al Qasim, underscored the importance of the week’s diverse programmes and activities.

He stated that these initiatives promote innovation, excellence, and educational leadership, making them integral to the national educational system.

The MoE organised the Specialised Training Week in collaboration with strategic partners, including the Ministry of Health and Prevention, United Arab Emirates University, Emirates College for Advanced Education, and the Regional Center for Educational Planning – UNESCO.

This collaboration reflects the ministry’s commitment to involving relevant parties in the development of the educational community, aligning with the UAE’s educational aspirations.

The week includes nine workshops for school leaders, 33 for teachers, and 22 for support roles, all conducted in collaboration with experts in various educational fields.

Several side events will take place, including the “Inspiring Ideas – Talented Educator” event.

A virtual discussion session with experts from UAE University and Emirates College for Advanced Education will delve into the symptoms and types of academic challenges faced by adolescents.

School leaders will benefit from a variety of training programmes, such as transformational leadership, targeting 1,464 leaders.

Another programme will focus on enhancing administrative work using generative artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to integrate AI tools into administrative tasks.

Teacher training will be launched under the title “Personal Traits of Outstanding Teachers,” featuring numerous workshops, including “Professional Learning Communities,” “Understanding and Supporting Students of Determination in Classrooms,” “Leading Modern Learning,” and “Project-Based Learning and Assessment for All Subjects.”
