Maryam Majid bin Theneya, Second Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), and Chair of Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) Women Parliamentary Forum, met with Enaam Mayara, PAM President and Speaker of the Moroccan House of Councillors, on the sidelines of the 2nd Economic Parliamentary Forum for Euro-Mediterranean Region & Gulf, which held in Marrakech.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two councils and the friendly countries, and the outcomes of the economic forum.
They affirmed the need to intensify joint efforts to address the region's economic and social challenges and the importance of consolidating the partnership and cooperation between the parliaments of member states to achieve sustainable development and prosperity.
The second edition, which was held from 11 to 12 July, provided an ideal opportunity for a host of parliamentarians and PAM founding partners to interact with political and economic stakeholders from the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society.
