Under the theme “Sustainable Giving,” the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) launched the “Ambassadors' Initiative,” which aims to encourage volunteering.
The initiative aims to enable volunteers to play an active role in designing and executing volunteer programmes, as well as support their ideas and innovations, develop and sustain them, and foster a culture of social responsibility, knowledge exchange, and capacity building.
The ERC, on Wednesday, held a press conference at its headquarters to announce the details of the initiative, which presented a range of creative ideas that are being implemented for the first time in the humanitarian field.
These ideas were presented by several members of the ERC Ambassadors' Team of Volunteers.
The team is a significant asset to the ERC’s volunteer work efforts, stressed Hamoud Abdullah Al Junaibi, Secretary-General of the ERC.
“The ERC welcomes the team’s initiatives and is keen to develop them, being distinguished and creative initiatives that will achieve progress in the field of giving sustainability,” he said.
Al Junaibi thanked the team behind the initiative, noting that they are in line with the ERC’s aspirations in a range of areas, which will lead to positive outcomes.
The ERC is keen to support and promote volunteer work and increase its network of volunteers who will strengthen its humanitarian efforts, he noted, adding that it always drafts plans and strategies aimed at supporting the work of volunteers.
