Omoda, the export-only brand from Chinese vehicle manufacturer Chery, is gearing up for the UAE launch of its C5 car, a crossover sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the coming weeks.
Two vehicles of Omoda have arrived in the UAE even as the company is rolling out plans for its earlier announced timeline of setting up operations fully by the third quarter of 2024. Along with the petrol C5 car, will be the popular electric model E5. The UAE car enthusiasts are set to get a sampling of the C5 when two cars are unveiled in April.
Omoda and Jaecoo are two Chery brands that are only marketed outside China to support its export strategy. After starting with Russia, the expansion recently included Spain last month, Malaysia earlier this March while the UAE is the next stop.
According to Chery, the letter "O" from Omoda is derived from Oxygen while "Moda" means "modern". Jaecoo derives its origin from German word “Jaeger” and “Cool”. Since it was first unveiled in the UAE, OMODA has attracted the attention of the new generation of users with its avant-garde aesthetics and intelligent technologies.
The exterior design of C5 features a diamond cut geometric matrix grille and 18-inch two-color blade wheels, fully embodying an exploration of future aesthetics. In terms of safety configuration, the C5 is equipped with a good proportion of ultra-high strength steel and six airbags. It meets five-star safety standards in multiple regions worldwide, including E-NCAP and A-NCAP, ensuring comprehensive safety for the driver and passengers.
The electric option from Omoda&Jaecoo, the Omoda E5, has also brought good news in the first quarter of 2024.
Since its debut in April last year, the E5 has garnered attention in nearly 20 countries and regions around the world. This year, it has made successive appearances in Chile, Indonesia, Spain, Malaysia, and other countries. Indonesia has become a strong market for the E5 with more than 2,300 orders in less than a month after its launch last year. Even the Indonesia President Joko Widodo experienced the E5 at a Motor Show in the country.
It has a futuristic design, intelligent features, and product strategy that meet the needs of local consumers. It’s leading a new energy concept which resonates with the low-carbon, green development strategies of countries worldwide, steering to a green future.
It is not long until UAE consumers officially meet Omoda C5 and E5.
