Etihad Rail has opened ticket sales for journeys between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, ahead of the September 30 launch of passenger services from the emirate’s Al Yalayis Station.
The new line will connect Dubai with Mohammed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi in about 57 minutes, marking the latest expansion of the UAE’s national passenger rail network.
The Dubai service will operate from Al Yalayis Station, near Jumeirah Golf Estates and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, which will open to passengers on September 30.
Passengers can book tickets through Etihad Rail’s official website and mobile application, where they can check schedules, select seats and manage their bookings.
Introductory fares for the Dubai–Abu Dhabi journey start at Dh39 for Comfort Class and Dh109 for Premium Class, according to Etihad Rail’s booking platform.
Etihad Rail’s booking terms state that reservations can be made up to five minutes before a scheduled departure, subject to availability.
The Dubai-Abu Dhabi connection is being introduced as part of the second phase of the national passenger rail rollout. Additional destinations will be introduced in stages, with several new openings over the coming months.
Al Dhaid in Sharjah is also scheduled to open on September 30, followed by Madinat Zayed and Liwa on November 30, Al Sila, Al Dhannah and Al Mirfa on December 30, and Sharjah University City on March 30, 2027.
Etihad Rail ultimately plans to connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE through its passenger network, as part of efforts to improve connectivity and support sustainable mobility.
