Sharjah Police have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for the murder of two Kazakh women, the force announced on Thursday.

The arrest followed an intensive investigation, which enabled police to identify and locate the suspect in record time.

The case began when the Operations Room received a report raising suspicions that a crime had taken place inside a residential apartment. Specialised teams were immediately dispatched to investigate.

Advanced technologies were used to analyse and link the available data, helping establish the circumstances and motives of the crime.

Brigadier Dr Khalifa Belhaj, Director of the Criminal Investigation Directorate at Sharjah Police, said investigations established that the two sisters knew the suspect and that disputes had developed between them before the killings.

He said the investigation led to the suspect's swift arrest. The suspect admitted to the crime after being confronted with the evidence.

Legal procedures were initiated and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, praised the investigative teams, and urged the public to rely on official sources.
