Abu Dhabi has announced free parking and toll-free travel on Friday, August 28, coinciding with the public holiday celebrating Prophet Muhammad’s birthday Holiday for 1448 AH.
Q Mobility, which manages the emirate's Darb and Mawaqif systems, said Darb toll charges will be waived for the day at four locations - Sas Al Nakhl, Al Maqta’, Rabdan, and Al Saadiyat. Al Qurm and Ghantout gates will remain operational 24 hours a day, with a fee of Dh4 per crossing.
Meanwhile, public parking will be free in the emirate on Friday, excluding at multi-storey Mawaqif parking structures where fees will continue to apply. Regular parking fees will resume on Saturday, 29 August 2026, as per standard timings and tariffs.
Q Mobility also said its Customer Happiness Centres in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain will be closed on Friday 28 August 2026, with services resuming on Monday, 31 August 2026, during regular working hours. Digital services will however remain available 24/7 through Q Mobility's official channels, including the website, the Darb application, and the TAMM platform.
