DUBAI (ALETIHAD)
The Child and Woman Protection Department at Dubai Police's General Department of Human Rights has urged parents to prepare their children mentally and regulate their sleep schedules ahead of the new academic year.
The Department explained that mental preparation and consistent sleep routines are essential in helping children transition smoothly into the school environment, boosting their self-confidence and fostering a sense of safety and reassurance.
The Department stated, "Advance preparation helps ease back-to-school anxiety, especially for children starting a new learning experience or transitioning to a different educational stage. Positive conversations with children about what to expect at school also help them feel more confident and reassured about their school day."
Dubai Police added, "Parents are advised to gradually adjust bedtimes and wake-up times before school starts to align with the school schedule, while also creating a calm sleep environment and ensuring children get adequate rest."
The Child and Woman Protection Department concluded by emphasising that encouraging children, listening to their concerns, and reinforcing their confidence in their ability to handle the school day are key factors in helping them start the academic year with a positive mindset and greater readiness.
