On World Humanitarian Day, the UAE reaffirmed its commitment to advancing global humanitarian efforts and ensuring a more stable and prosperous future for all.

In a statement on X marking the occasion, the UAE Mission to the UN said that humanitarian action remains a cornerstone of the country's foreign policy, with its response to crises extending beyond immediate relief to protecting lives and dignity, helping communities withstand crises and supporting recovery and reconstruction.

"On World Humanitarian Day, the UAE reaffirms that humanitarian action remains a cornerstone of its foreign policy. Guided by the belief that responding to crises extends beyond providing relief, the UAE remains committed to protecting lives and dignity, strengthening communities' resilience, and supporting recovery and reconstruction to build a more stable and prosperous future," the statement said.

The UAE Mission to UN called for humanitarian assistance to be delivered according to need, and without exemption, while prioritising the protection of civilians and aid workers.

"Humanitarian assistance must never be obstructed, politicised or instrumentalised. It must remain safe, rapid, sustained and unhindered, guided solely by the needs of those affected and delivered impartially, without distinction. Civilians, including humanitarian workers, must be protected at all times," the statement added.
