Abu Dhabi Police have warned residents of a rise in online fraud and financial scams designed to exploit residents around the end of each month, when salary payments are typically made.
The authority urged people to remain vigilant, and to avoid clicking on suspicious links. It also called on the public to deal only with official and trusted entities.
In a warning bulletin, Abu Dhabi Police said scammers have been found using a range of tactics, including advertising bogus holiday resorts, fake residency visas, non-existent services, fraudulent job offers, misleading domestic worker recruitment services, unauthorised insurance products, and fake sales of vehicles purportedly confiscated by Abu Dhabi Customs.
Fraudsters have also been noted offering vehicle number plates and luxury watches for sale at unrealistic prices, or luring victims into bogus investment schemes, selling counterfeit event tickets, impersonating government entities, and even persuading victims to download remote access software to gain access to funds.
Abu Dhabi Police urged the public to refrain from sharing banking details, passwords or one-time passwords (OTPs), and to avoid transferring funds without first verifying the legitimacy of the seller or service provider. It also advised residents to access government services only through official websites and applications rather than links received through unverified search results.

Abu Dhabi Police emphasised that early reporting and community cooperation help curb cybercrime and protect society. In the event of a suspicious incident, it urged the public to report the activity at the earliest through its Aman service channels:
