Dubai Police has renewed its call for families travelling during the summer holidays to keep children under constant supervision and ensure their personal needs are fully prepared before departure, as part of ongoing efforts to promote child safety during travel.
The appeal was issued by the Women and Children Protection Department at the General Department of Human Rights under the “Our Children’s Safety During this Summer” campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of protecting children while travelling and staying abroad.
The department stressed the need for parents and guardians to provide continuous care and supervision throughout their journey.
Dubai Police also called for complying with the laws and regulations of the countries they visit, particularly those with strict child protection legislation relating to neglect and exposing children to danger.
Dubai Police also urged families never to leave children unattended, especially in public and crowded places, and to take all necessary precautions to safeguard them throughout their trip.
Parents were further advised to keep emergency contact numbers readily available, including the contact details of the UAE Embassy in their destination country, to ensure swift assistance in the event of an emergency.
The Women and Children Protection Department concluded by encouraging families to make the most of the summer holidays in a safe and responsible manner that places children’s wellbeing and safety at the forefront.
