AL AIN (ALETIHAD)

The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) General Headquarters, represented by the Al Ain Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate through the Traffic Black Points Programe Section, has launched an on-site service platform at Zayed Central Library in Al Ain.

The initiative, implemented in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT), is part of the force's ongoing efforts to bring services closer to the community, enhance quality of life, and support Abu Dhabi Police's strategic priority of "Smart Road Safety."

Acting Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, Brigadier Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, said the platform reflects ADP's commitment to providing proactive traffic services that make it easier for customers to access essential services while encouraging drivers to comply with traffic laws and regulations, ultimately contributing to the highest standards of road safety.

He explained that the platform offers a driving licence reinstatement service for drivers who have accumulated the maximum threshold of 24 traffic black points. Eligible drivers can register for the program, pay the required fee of Dh2,400, and attend a rehabilitation course designed for traffic law offenders, enabling them to regain their driving licences in accordance with approved procedures.

The platform also provides a reduction of 8 traffic black points for drivers whose accumulated points range between 8 and 23.

After completing the registration process, paying the required Dh800 fee, and attending the rehabilitation course, the eight points are deducted from the driver's traffic record in line with the applicable regulations.

Abu Dhabi Police encouraged drivers to take advantage of the Traffic Black Points Programme, emphasising its role in helping motorists regularise their traffic records, strengthen compliance with traffic laws and regulations, improve road safety, and reduce the causes of traffic accidents.

The initiative also involved the Traffic Awareness and Education Branch in Al Ain through the Happiness Patrol, which engaged with visitors and distributed educational gifts.

The Community Police Affairs Section in Al Ain also participated, along with members of the "We Are All Police" initiative.

Their involvement helped organise customer services, facilitate access to the program, and promote road safety awareness and community responsibility through public education messages.
