ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

The General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Al Dhafra Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, has launched a summer campaign to help workers in Al Dhafra region cool down in the heat.

The Cool Down initiative, which kicked off in Al Mirfa City, aims to support workers, and recognise the vital role they play in driving development. The initiative coincides with the peak of summer, when temperatures soar across the UAE.

Colonel Saif Mohammed bin Naif Al Ameri, Director of the Al Dhafra Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, said the initiative reflects Abu Dhabi Police's humanitarian approach, and its commitment to implementing community initiatives that enhance quality of life, reinforce the values of solidarity and giving, and promote the health and safety of workers in appreciation of their dedicated efforts across various sectors. Al Ameri said the initiative also includes efforts to enhance road and traffic safety during the summer months.

As part of the campaign, Abu Dhabi Police distributed parcels containing cold bottled water, light snacks, and fresh fruit to workers at several work sites in Al Mirfa City. The aim was to alleviate the effects of extreme summer temperatures for outdoor workers.

The Cool Down initiative is one among a series of summer campaigns implemented by Abu Dhabi Police to promote a culture of social responsibility, raise preventive and traffic safety awareness. The initiatives are also designed to strengthen the values of cooperation and solidarity, enhance quality of life, and contribute to the safety and security of the community.
