All aboard as Etihad Rail begins its passenger services on Tuesday, June 30.

The route from Abu Dhabi's Mohamed Bin Zayed City to Fujairah will be covered in just 1 hour and 45 minutes, according to officials, which is must faster than a road trip between the two emirates.

Stations in Dubai and Al Dhaid are set open with the official launch of the network on September 30.

These will be followed by the opening of Al Dhafra station on December 30, while the project will be completed with the inauguration of Sharjah station on March 30, 2027.

The passenger fleet consists of 13 trains that will operate at speeds of up to 200km/h and will accommodate up to 400 passengers each.

Fares for the Abu Dhabi–Fujairah route range from Dh55 for Comfort Class to Dh120 for a Premium Class ticket.

Tickets have been available since June 23 through the Etihad Rail mobile application and official website. Travellers can also purchase them at the stations based on availability.
