The Eid sermon addressed the value of honesty, its many forms, and its profound impact on both individuals and society.

Under the title “Our Eid is Honesty and Sacrifice,” Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, said that honesty is the shortest path to trust and the one with the longest-lasting impact.

He explained that trust generates strength, and through strength, societies become stable and civilisations are built.

He added that the UAE leadership was sincere in its intentions and united in determination, establishing the nation on honesty from the very first day, making it firmly grounded.

The preacher pointed out that honesty reflects a person’s loyalty to their homeland and is proof of their sincerity. Through honesty, nations live with dignity and societies remain great, for truthful people are the guardians of their countries, and loyalty is evident in their actions.

He further explained that one form of honesty is safeguarding the secrets of one’s country, defending it, and standing as a strong barrier against anyone who seeks to harm it. Honesty is also reflected in parents raising their children well, teachers being devoted to their mission, employees performing their duties with excellence, and every individual striving diligently in their place so that the nation continues to progress.

After the prayer, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged Eid greetings with fellow worshippers.

His Highness then joined accompanying sheikhs in reciting Al-Fatihah for the soul of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
