ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Abu Dhabi Police has urged parents to closely supervise children and raise awareness about the dangers of fireworks and firecrackers during the Eid Al Adha holiday, warning that such practices pose serious safety risks and can lead to severe injuries and accidents.

The authority said fireworks-related incidents each year result in burns, facial injuries, and damage to the eyes and hands, in addition to causing fires and property damage. It stressed that children should not be allowed to buy or use firecrackers under any circumstances.

Abu Dhabi Police also called on families to promote a culture of safety among children and encourage safe and responsible behaviour during Eid celebrations, while avoiding hazardous activities that could endanger their safety and that of others.

The authority emphasised that protecting children is a shared community responsibility that requires cooperation from all members of society.
