DUBAI (ALETIHAD)
The General Department of Airport Security at Dubai Police returned a handbag containing silver bars valued at approximately Dh2 million to a passenger, following intensive efforts by the team at Terminal 1.
Colonel Abdullah Faisal Al Dosari, Director of the Terminal 1 Security Department, explained that a foot patrol officer was conducting a routine security sweep in the departure hall when an Asian passenger reported losing a black handbag before boarding his flight, according to a statement issued on Saturday.
Col. Al Dosari added that upon receiving the report, the operations room took immediate action and reviewed the passenger's movement.
A team of foot patrol officers was then deployed to search for the bag across various areas of the airport, who eventually located the bag.
Upon opening and verifying its contents, they found it contained silver bars valued at approximately Dh2 million.
“After confirming the ownership documents, the bag was handed over to its owner in accordance with legal procedures, with an official receipt issued,” Col. Al Dosari added.
The passenger expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to Dubai Police, commending their swift response and the professionalism of the teams at the General Department of Airport Security.
