ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Abu Dhabi Police have urged motorists to exercise caution during rainfall and unstable weather conditions, warning against driving through wadis and flood-prone areas.

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate said entering flowing wadis constitutes a serious offence, carrying a Dh2,000 fine, 23 black points, and vehicle impoundment for 60 days, regardless of the perceived level of risk.

Drivers are advised to check weather updates before travelling and to avoid low-lying areas where water may accumulate.

Authorities also called on motorists to adhere to official instructions, reduce speed, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

They further warned against distracted driving, including using mobile phones to take photos or videos.

Motorists must comply with speed limits displayed on road signs and electronic message boards.
