ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) announced the arrest of 109 individuals of various nationalities who filmed locations and events and shared inaccurate information on social media platforms during the ongoing incidents, which could provoke public opinion and spread rumours within the community.
ADP have taken the necessary legal and administrative measures against them, as part of ongoing efforts by security authorities to monitor and address violations linked to the misuse of social media.
They emphasised that such behaviour violates applicable laws and regulations, stressing the importance of verifying information and refraining from publishing or resharing any unverified content or information not issued by official sources, due to its negative impact on community security and ongoing security procedures.
They also urged the public to obtain information only from official, reliable sources and to avoid filming or sharing incident locations or related content in order to preserve the integrity of procedures and protect the public interest.
