AMEINAH ALZEYOUDI (ABU DHABI)

Thousands of food boxes were carefully packed on Monday as ADNOC employees, their families, and community volunteers came together in a spirit of compassion and generosity ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

In partnership with Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), ADNOC carried out its annual Ramadan Mir campaign, a cherished initiative aimed at providing essential food items to individuals and families in need across the UAE.

A longstanding Emirati tradition, Ramadan Mir embodies giving and charity, with participants assembling food baskets containing the staples that households rely on throughout Ramadan.

Speaking to Aletihad, Dr Ghuwaya Al Neyadi, Senior Vice President of National Identity, Quality of Life, and Social Responsibility at ADNOC, described the holy month as "an important opportunity to strengthen our connection to the values of the UAE and to embed the concept of shared social responsibility through volunteering and community service".

She added that the involvement of ADNOC employees, their families, and strategic partners in the campaign "is a living embodiment of the UAE's noble values and a direct contribution to supporting thousands of beneficiaries across the country".

Beyond the food boxes, the programme also provides thousands of daily iftar meals for those observing the fast during Ramadan.

These initiatives will benefit communities across Al Ain, Al Dhafra, and Abu Dhabi, with more than 22,900 people expected to receive support.
