ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) General Headquarters participated in the Leadership in Mass Events programme held at the Los Angeles Police Academy in the United States.
Participating representatives hailed from police and security agencies from around the world, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Brazil, Italy, Spain, and Australia.
Head of the Events Security Management Centre, Brigadier General Mohammed Salem Al Mazyoud Al Shehhi, explained that this participation reflects ADP’s commitment to developing its systems for managing and securing major events, as well as benefiting from global experiences and exchanging best practices in planning, management, and security coordination.
He affirmed that the ADP continues to enhance the capabilities of its personnel and strengthen its preparedness in major event management, in line with the wise leadership’s vision to achieve the highest levels of security and safety.
He added that the programme is part of Los Angeles’ preparations to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games, both of which require a high level of readiness and coordination among security and service entities.
The programme included discussion sessions, training workshops, and field visits to crowd management sites and operations centres, aimed at reviewing the modern systems and technologies used in securing global events.
