Mawaqif parking and Darb toll will be free of charge in Abu Dhabi on Friday, an official holiday for the Prophet’s birthday, Abu Dhabi Mobility has announced. The authority has also issued schedules for public transport services, community parks, and licensing service centres.

In an advisory posted on social media on Thursday, Abu Dhabi Mobility confirmed that public parking will be free in the emirate during the holiday. Paid parking resumes on Saturday, September 6.

In addition, motorists passing through Darb toll gates won’t be charged. Toll will resume on September 6, the authority said.

Abu Dhabi Mobility also informed residents that Customer Happiness Centres in Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain Region, and Al Dhafra Region will be closed from Friday, September 5, until Sunday, September 7.

Public parks, ladies and family parks, and playgrounds in Abu Dhabi City will be open from 8am to 11pm during the holiday. Meanwhile, those in Al Ain and Al Dhafra regions will welcome visitors from 8am until midnight.

Commuters who are taking public transport services in the emirate are advised to check detailed bus schedules on the authority’s official website (www.itc.gov.ae) or the Darbi app and website (www.darbi.itc.gov.ae). Residents and visitors may also contact the hotline 800850 for support.

In general, Abu Dhabi Express transport services are available daily from 6am until midnight, while the Abu Dhabi Link operates from 6am to 11pm.

Abu Dhabi Mobility also listed the operating hours of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Service Centres, and their affiliated services, during the holiday.

Light vehicle inspection centres at Al Salama Building – Abu Dhabi Licensing and Al Salama Building (Falaj Hazza), Al Ain City, will be open 24 hours on Friday.

The centre in Madinat Zayed, Al Dhafra Region, will operate from 7am to 7pm.

Heavy vehicle inspection centres will serve customers from 2pm to 10pm on Friday.

These include the Mussafah Vehicle Inspection Centre (Aman) in Abu Dhabi; Mazyad Vehicle Inspection Centre (Aman) in Al Ain City; and Beda Zayed Vehicle Inspection Centre (Aman) in Al Dhafra Region.
