The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) conducted an awareness workshop for school bus drivers under the title “Safe Transport and the Use of the Stop Arm.”
The initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to promote the highest standards of road safety and protect students while traveling to and from schools.
The workshop covered key guidelines on safe driving, compliance with traffic laws, adhering to speed limits, maintaining a safe following distance, and avoiding stopping on road shoulders.
It also highlighted the safety requirements that school buses must meet, along with raising awareness among drivers about the proper use of the side “Stop Arm” when students are boarding or exiting the bus, thereby ensuring their safety at all times.
Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, Brigadier General Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, honoured outstanding school bus drivers and supervisors in the presence of Brigadier Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Deputy Director for Security Patrol Affairs.
He reaffirmed ADP’s commitment to spreading traffic awareness, enhancing road safety, and applying best practices that contribute to protecting students and ensuring their safe arrival at school.
