The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has achieved a significant milestone in the QS World University Rankings for Sustainability 2025, securing the top position nationally, 58th in Asia, and 343rd globally.
This remarkable advancement, with a 51-spot improvement compared to last year, underscores the university’s commitment to sustainable development and its growing academic leadership.
Zaki Nusseibeh, Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), stated that this achievement highlights the university's ongoing efforts to establish itself as a leading academic and research institution contributing to a more sustainable future.
He said, "This accomplishment reflects UAEU’s dedication to sustainability as a cornerstone of its academic and research journey. By aligning our strategies with the goals of COP28, actively participating in COP29 initiatives, hosting international conferences, and launching specialised academic programmes, we aim to create tangible change locally and globally."
The QS World University Rankings for Sustainability is a key benchmark for evaluating universities based on their social and environmental impact, encompassing research, academic initiatives, and operational practices.
This recognition reaffirms UAEU's commitment to delivering innovative solutions to global challenges such as climate change and social well-being through its pioneering research, programmes, and initiatives.
