Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, today received Wolfgang Amadeus Brulhart, Swiss Special Envoy for the Middle East and North Africa, in Abu Dhabi today.

The meeting was attended by Arthur Mattli, the Swiss Ambassador to the UAE.

The two sides discussed ways to promote the values of peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and human fraternity across the Middle East and North Africa. They emphasised the shared priorities of the UAE and Switzerland in fostering peace and understanding among nations amid the current global challenges.

Sheikh Nahyan praised the strong cooperation between the UAE and Switzerland, highlighting the UAE's commitment, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to advancing tolerance and coexistence as core elements of its national identity and approach in tackling regional and global issues.

He underscored the importance of international cooperation to promote a culture of peace and dialogue among civilisations, stating that global cooperation is a cornerstone to achieving these noble goals.

Expressing his satisfaction with the productive meeting, Sheikh Nahyan welcomed Wolfgang Amadeus Brulhart and the accompanying delegation to the UAE and wished him success in his mission.

Brulhart t, in turn, praised the UAE's pioneering role in promoting tolerance and coexistence at regional and global levels.

He also noted that these efforts reflect a clear commitment to the principles of peace and cultural understanding.

He also emphasised Switzerland's view of the UAE as a strategic partner in promoting dialogue and cooperation among nations.

He expressed his country's keen interest in enhancing cooperation with the UAE through initiatives and projects that contribute to peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding.

He also lauded the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence for its impactful programmes and initiatives that enhance human fraternity values.
