Abu Dhabi Police on Sunday issued safety instructions for motorists on how to celebrate UAE's 53rd Eid Al Etihad responsibly as the nation gears up to mark the joyous occasion on December 2.

Posting a notice on social media, the Abu Dhabi Police urged the public to avoid hanging out of car windows or the sunroof. They also warned against using party sprays - by the driver, passengers or pedestrians - and littering. 

The notice also cautioned motorists against reckless driving that may endanger their lives and the lives of others.

The police highlighted that the above violations can carry a penalty of up to Dh2,000 along with 23 traffic points and 60 days of vehicle impoundment. The minimum penalty is Dh1,000 along with 6 traffic points.


In a separate social media post, the Ministry of Interior issued a comprehensive list of guidelines to ensure a safe December 2 celebrations for all.
