Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, and Abu Bakr Jilani Sheikh, Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Endowments of the Federal Republic of Somalia, discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in religious issues and enhance communication relations.

During a visit paid by the Somalian Minister and his accompanying delegation to the authority's headquarters in Abu Dhabi, the two sides tackled topics supporting shared objectives.

They also emphasised the importance of fostering collaboration and promoting the noble values and tolerant teachings of Islam.

Dr. Al Darei welcomed the Somali Minister, commending the deep and long-standing ties between the two fraternal nations and their wise leadership.

He indicated that the visit reflects the growing and evolving relations between the two sides across various fields.

The Somali Minister praised the cultural engagement and strong ties between the two countries and their peoples. He lauded the UAE’s approach to promoting noble humanitarian values and its commitment to spreading peace among nations.

He further remarked that the UAE represents a model of moderate religious discourse and described its unique and rich experience in combating extremism as one that should be adopted in awareness platforms.
