Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, received on Monday in Abu Dhabi a delegation from the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Parliamentary Friendship Committee with the Gulf States, headed by Salvatore Caiata, President of the Committee and Member of the Italian Parliament.
Both sides discussed ways to strengthen their cooperation to support stability and peaceful coexistence among the nations and peoples of the world.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak emphasised that the human values upon which the committee is based could be one of the most important ways to achieve global and regional stability.
He expressed the UAE's support for the committee's efforts across all the fields it works in.
He further stated that the Committee has a significant role in bridging viewpoints and seeking common ground to establish a foundation for constructive cooperation and enhance international peace and security.
He commended the committee's efforts in this area, led by Salvatore Caiata.
For his part, Salvatore Caiata expressed his great pleasure in meeting with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, recognising him as one of the most important global figures in promoting the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and human fraternity.
He confirmed that the meeting was highly productive and positive, addressing many matters of mutual interest.
He also commended the UAE's efforts in supporting peaceful coexistence and stability in the region and the world.
