Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Zayed Grand Camel Race 2024 will commence on Monday at Al Wathba Camel Racetrack in Abu Dhabi, running until December 1, with thousands of camels from across the UAE and GCC countries participating.

The organising committee has allocated 36 trophies for the competition, which will feature 217 races over the event’s duration.

The Zayed Grand Camel Race is the only event named after the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who pioneered camel racing over five decades ago, and whose legacy continues with the steadfast support of the UAE's leadership.

The competition enjoys the attention of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, reflecting his commitment to the sport and the advancements made to it in recent years.

The event is organised by the Camel Racing Federation, chaired by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President.
