H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has held productive discussions with the leadership of several prominent Guangdong companies during his four-day visit to China’s most populous province.

During a visit where Ras Al Khaimah signed an agreement with Guangdong Province, H.H. Sheikh Saud also visited several key companies, including Midea, the world’s largest producer of large appliances; WeRide, a leading autonomous driving company; and Xpeng Aeroht, one of the largest flying car companies in Asia.

H.H. Sheikh Saud said, “Meeting the leadership of such global companies and understanding their vision for growth is a crucial step in strengthening ties. By forging lasting business partnerships with China’s leading companies, we unlock new economic opportunities and help to build bridges for mutual growth, understanding and innovation in a rapidly changing world.”

H.H. Sheikh Saud and the delegation also held meetings with Ehang, Chen Liji Pharmaceutical Factory, the Urban Planning & Design Institute of Shenzhen and Qiaoyin City Management Co. during the trip. 

A tour of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine also shed light on traditional Chinese medicines and their ongoing uses in modern culture.

With a population of over 126 million people, Guangdong has the largest economy of any province in China, with a GDP of $1.9 trillion (Dh6.98 trillion) in 2023. It is a major manufacturing hub, with electronics, automotive, textiles, pharmaceuticals, high-tech industries, finance and real estate making up some of the key sectors.
