Mr. Omar Shehadeh, Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Caribbean and Pacific States, visited the Republic of Fiji to meet several ministers and officials, aiming to enhance ties and advance bilateral cooperation across various fields.

During the visit to the Republic of Fiji, Mr. Shehadeh met with His Excellency Biman Prasad, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics, and His Excellency Manoa Kamikamica, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communication.

Envoy Shehadeh also met Lenora Qereqeretabua, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Speaker of Parliament; His Excellency Viliame Gavoka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation; His Excellency Pio Tikoduadua, Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration; His Excellency Aseri Radrodro, Minister for Education; and His Excellency Vatimi Rayalu, Minister for Agriculture.

During the meetings, the two sides discussed ways of strengthening

bilateral ties and advancing cooperation and affirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation across the economy, trade, culture, development, and renewable energy, as well as building and empowering capacities.

Mr. Shehadeh also met Baron Waqa, Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum, to discuss prospects of cooperation across various fields, particularly climate change and sustainability.
