His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, received, on Thursday, members of the Judicial Council in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Judicial Council, at the office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.

At the beginning of the meeting, H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah welcomed the attendees, pointing out the importance of the judiciary, the integration of its apparatuses, its major role in the government system and the stability of society, spreading justice, adherence to the tasks assigned to them and achieving the lofty goals of the law by applying the spirit of the law for the good of the members of society and spreading tolerant values and virtue among people.

During the meeting, the Ruler of Sharjah stressed the commitment to all principles and values related to the judiciary, confirming the principle of its independence, which gives judges complete independence, above which there is no authority in performing their duties except the law and conscience, stressing the non-interference in the judiciary at the emirate level except within the limits approved by the laws.

H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan pointed out the importance of establishing the values of truth and justice among those who resort to the courts to resolve their disputes; that those working in the judicial and legal apparatuses should be educators and guides who seek goodness among people first to preserve the cohesion of society; and the necessity of helping its members to be tolerant and harmonious and resolve all disputes through reconciliation, forgiveness and pardon, which reflects on the ties between people and increases the strength of their relationships.

The meeting also discussed the importance of all those working in the judicial and legal apparatuses seeking to provide legal and social advice to those who seek the courts and litigate officially at all legal stages, to prevent the exacerbation of problems.

His Highness stressed during the meeting the need for the judge to educate himself, read and follow up on everything new in the fields of modern science and knowledge, in addition to in-depth study in order to give rights to their people and contribute to guiding and directing society towards the best ways to enhance cohesion and coexistence, in addition to not issuing rulings while the judge is exposed to any matter that may distract from his focus and affect his judgment, even if it is simple.

For their part, the members of the Judicial Council expressed their thanks and gratitude to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for the precious trust in choosing them to the Council, pledging to His Highness to be worthy of this trust, and to work to implement His Highness' wise advice and directives, which will contribute to their performance of their duties in the best possible way.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Head of the Ruler's Office; Sheikh Faisal bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Mualla, Secretary-General of the Judicial Council; Rashid Ahmed bin Al Sheikh, Head of the Emiri Court; Dr Mansour bin Nassar, Head of the Legal Department of the Government of Sharjah; Judge Dr Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Head of the Judicial Department; Judge Ahmed Abdullah Al Mulla, Head of the Court of Cassation, Judge Dr Omar Obaid Al Ghoul, Head of the Courts of First Instance; Judge Abdul Rahman Sultan bin Taliah, Head of the Courts of Appeal; Judge Dr. Salama Rashid Salem Tamim Al Ketbi, Head of the Judicial Inspection Department; and Counselor Anwar Amin Al Harmoudi, Attorney General and Head of the Public Prosecution Authority.
