Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, has attended the graduation ceremony of the fifth cohort of alternative national service recruits specialising in food security.

The ceremony was attended by Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), senior officials, representatives from food and logistics facilities and key training partners.

In his keynote address, Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the programme’s role in realising the vision of the leadership. He emphasised the importance of preparing UAE youth to be responsible, loyal, disciplined, and resilient contributors to the nation’s prosperity.

He noted that this celebration is a deep expression of confidence in the future of this dear country, and a strong affirmation of the belief that the progress of society depends primarily depends on the active engagement and dedication of each citizen, fully prepared and committed to their duties in service of the nation.

The ceremony showcased key phases of the fifth training programme, detailing the role of partnering food and logistics organisations in providing recruits with essential skills and knowledge. Through this collaboration, the programme aims to equip recruits to meet the UAE’s strategic objectives for advancing national welfare and achieving sustainable food security.

National service recruit Rashid Yousuf Al Balushi delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to demonstrate their loyalty to the UAE and fulfil the aspirations of its leadership. He outlined the programme’s structure, from initial basic training to specialised training, and finally, practical service phases involving the management and operation of food and logistics facilities.

ADAFSA underscored the importance of maintaining uninterrupted operations within essential food facilities during emergencies and crises, highlighting this as a fundamental pillar of the UAE’s food security strategy and supply chain sustainability.

ADAFSA extended its appreciation to the National and Reserve Service Authority, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, and the Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Centre for their continuous support and for designing an exceptional training programme that combines military discipline with practical food security and supply chain skills. Thanks were also given to the food and logistics partners for their invaluable expertise.
