Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by Natalija Mansour, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the UAE, and the accompanying delegation.
The President of Slovenia and the delegation began their tour at the mosque by visiting the mausoleum of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, reflecting on the qualities and wise approach of the Founding Father, which have enriched the culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among nations worldwide.
She and the delegation, accompanied by Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center, toured the mosque’s halls and outer corridors.
They learned about the mosque’s civilisational message advocating coexistence, tolerance, and openness to others, inspired by the values and virtues of the Founding Father.
They also explored the significant role of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in introducing the tolerant Islamic culture and enhancing cultural communication between different cultures and peoples around the world.
They were briefed on the history of the grand edifice, the mosque’s aesthetics, and the exquisite Islamic architectural arts that are clearly manifested in every corner, as well as its unique artifacts and the finest contributions of Islamic civilisation throughout the ages, reflected in the diverse and harmonious designs of the mosque, showcasing the beauty of cultural harmony in a single creative work.
At the end of the visit, the guest was presented with a gift that encapsulates the mosque's beauty: floral mosaic designs of the exterior columns, a compass inspired by the mosque's chandeliers, and a copy of "Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace."
